The Academy Awards has always been a venue for the most glamorous people in the free world, and today Hollywood is using its glamour to remind us of what is truly important!

EVERYTHING YOU DO, MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Making movies: Pakistan documentary A Girl in the River. The movie depicts a girl who is a survivor of an honor killing attempt. Female director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, 37 and the only Oscar woman of color 2016, says that because of her film, the government is changing the laws to better protect women.

Stars and designers help to redefine Secondhand at the 2016 Academy Awards

Stars: Olga Kurylenko (Bond girl Camille in the 22nd James Bond movie Quantum of Solace) and actor Kellan Lutz “turned the Oscar red carpet green.” Kurylenko wore a draped red dress designed by Alice Elia (winner of Suzy Amis Cameron’s Red Carpet Green Dress competition). Her dress was made from Global Organic Textile Standard-certified 100% organic “peace silk” and dyed with sappanwood and madder root to achieve its crimson shade. Her date Legend of Hercules star Lutz’s dashing tuxedo was made from fibres created from recycled plastic bottles.
