June 6, 2015, marks the MMHS prom and Wild By Nature’s second year of cash awards given for the best dressed graduating seniors wearing vintage clothing. Very much like the 2014 prom,

$1350 CASH AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN AS

TWO $500 FIRST PRIZES and
ONE $250 RUNNER UP PRIZE
ONE $100 SPECIAL RECOGNITION PRIZE

TO THE BEST DRESSED GRADUATING SENIORS WEARING VINTAGE TO THE PROM.

Read the 2014 announcement below for ideas on where to start your search for vintage prom attire. Vintage is considered anything 25 years or older, although Wild By Nature is flexible in our definition! We hope to engage more secondhand stores this year in our gift certificate prizes.

With the big fashion movement to avoid sweatshops and massive amounts of clothing ending up in our landfills, new websites are popping up everywhere to rent or remake clothing. The nicest thing about older clothing is that the FABRIC is superior in every way. Also, the clothing was typically made by seamstresses earning a living wage. Let’s add REMAKE and RENT to the list with RECYCLE!!

Don’t stop with clothing! What about shoes, accessories, jewelry, under garments! Think creatively and do not limit yourself to simply purchasing your outfit.
