It All Adds Up

This site is dedicated to helping us reset our Zero Carbon Footprint

Are you sitting in your quiet room, all alone wondering “What could it matter if I recycle my organic juice bottle or throw it in the trash? After all, I’m just one person.” Well, there are more of you/us than you think. In fact, a full one quarter of all US households are single-dweller units!

One in A Million

One in A Million

If everyone in this photo threw one teaspoon of anything into the trash instead of recycling it, in one day it would add up to:

Assuming there are One Million people in this photo,
1,000,000 teaspoons = 20,833.3 cups
20,833 cups = 1,302 gallons

If a gallon of water weighs about 8.34 pounds,
8.34 x 1,302 = 10,858.68 pounds
10,858.68 pounds = 5.429 TONS !!

If everyone in this photo threw one teaspoon of anything into the trash for one month, it would add up to
30 x 1,302 = 39,062 gallons every 30 days
39,062 x 8.34 pounds = 325,760.4 pounds
325,760.4 pounds = 162.8802 TONS !!

Knowing this can help in many ways, including helping you hit the reset button on your sense of self and where you fit in THIS GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL WORLD!

So, get up off your chair, join the 21st century, and put that gum wrapper in the recycle bin. And yes, it is fashionable to recycle!
